Jim Carrey a much loved comedian; some people regard him as the funniest actor in contemporary comedy movies. He became a multimillionaire very easily, and it isn't surprising when considering the mass appeal that his performances have garnered.

When trying to pick the best movie of Jim Carrey's career, many people have great difficulty. He has numerous classics under his belt, and people just can't pick one.

However, the actor is first breakthrough hits were phenomenal comedies. You have probably seen them: the Mask and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

These movies skyrocketed Jim Carrey into fame. But he kept himself in the public eye by going on to star in a number of successful movies, keeping his career on a high note. This is why he is currently at the top of the entertainment world.

The next film after his first two successes was Dumb and Dumber. This movie probably solidified his place in Hollywood as a great comedian. He played Lloyd Christmas, a dimwitted yet lovable character who chased his dream woman across America. Jeff Daniels also gave a great performance as Jim Carrey's friend.

Following his string of successes came a few less than popular movies. The Cable Guy and Me, Myself and Irene did not perform as well as his earlier movies. However, they were still okay and managed to develop a following regardless.

As an actor, Jim Carrey started to show growth in his abilities later in his career by taking on more dramatic roles. He played in some pretty serious movies, like Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, both of which garnered some critical acclaim and showed people that he was more than just a good comedy actor.

There are quite a few Jim Carrey films to select from, and it's hard to decide which of them is the best. Everyone has their own personal favorite.
