Classic movies are considered great cinematic pieces as well. Several Old Hollywood films are unbeatable and will remain timeless for its elegance in the formative years of the cinema. For instance, the motion pictures which made superstars such as James Dean and Marlon Brando the stature of Hall of Famers in the hearts of million are described as unsurpassed in cinematic excellence.

"Rebel without a Cause", "Streetcar Named Desire" and others such as "Gone with the Wind" are part of the ultimate classic collection which cannot be laid for competition with later films. Not only that, "Pretty Woman" which placed Julia Roberts on the map of stardom is considered to be a record-breaking achievement for film-making geniuses.

If you are inclined towards action-filled films, then "The Matrix" starring Keanu Reeves may be the ground-breaking action film which combines the superiority of technological advancement as well as eastern-based martial arts such as Jujitsu and Tae-Kwan-do. Other than that older films such as the Godfather and Top Gun are definitely on the finest films list.

Of course, these films would have to fit certain selection criteria before being noted as a great production. How to Make a Good Parody Movie

Parody Movies have a long tradition throughout movie history. They also have a tradition of not being like by critics. Even Space Balls, a movie beloved by millions of fans was only given 2 1/2 stars by Roger Ebert. Getting 3 stars for a parody movie is considered an achievement and the last parody movie that had done so to my recollection was Scary Movie which received 3 stars by Roger Ebert. Naked Gun is considered almost a masterpiece at 3 1/2 stars.

My favorite parody movie as of late was Superhero Movie but that was not reviewed by Roger Ebert. I thought that the first 45 minutes were brilliant (especially the spoof on Spider-man's origin) but the last part sort of abandoned spoofing movies and went on it's own plot. Tropic Thunder was a borderline parody movie and that received the achievement of 3 1/2 stars. It's borderline because not a large part of the movie was spoof material, it contained only small homages here and there.

I think that may be where spoofs need to go in the future. Take a movie like Meet the Spartans. It essentially takes the movie 300 and adds gross out blue humor. The reason the movie was so bad was that it based the jokes around the need to rigidly follow the storyline of 300 rather than drawing from a larger source material and finding things that were funny.

Great spoofable moments in movies like "You Can't Handle the Truth", the death scene in Robocop 1, the twist at the end of The Usual Suspects, Rosebud in Citizen Kane, the love scene in From Here to Eternity, and Arnold moments have been spoofed numerous times and I never get sick of seeing them. If a movie is spoofable there are always new twists that can be added to make a new spoof of it original.

The problem that movies like Vampires Suck has is that it feels the need to pander to the audience because it wants to be a commercial success. It's trying to capitalize on the success of the twilight movies rather than trying to capitalize on the success of being funny. Pure parody movies need to find their success on videos where devoted fans can appreciate obscure references.

The original Austin Powers movies found most of it's success on video among fans who can appreciate references to movies that didn't come out five minutes ago. The other ones didn't do so well because they started to pander to the audience.

Good pure spoof movies need to go direct to video so they can be matched with fans who can appreciate subtlety. Movies with the odd spoof here and there like Tropic Thunder go to the big screen where less knowledgeable moviegoers can appreciate the film for it's own merits.

Jim Carrey a much loved comedian; some people regard him as the funniest actor in contemporary comedy movies. He became a multimillionaire very easily, and it isn't surprising when considering the mass appeal that his performances have garnered.

When trying to pick the best movie of Jim Carrey's career, many people have great difficulty. He has numerous classics under his belt, and people just can't pick one.

However, the actor is first breakthrough hits were phenomenal comedies. You have probably seen them: the Mask and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

These movies skyrocketed Jim Carrey into fame. But he kept himself in the public eye by going on to star in a number of successful movies, keeping his career on a high note. This is why he is currently at the top of the entertainment world.

The next film after his first two successes was Dumb and Dumber. This movie probably solidified his place in Hollywood as a great comedian. He played Lloyd Christmas, a dimwitted yet lovable character who chased his dream woman across America. Jeff Daniels also gave a great performance as Jim Carrey's friend.

Following his string of successes came a few less than popular movies. The Cable Guy and Me, Myself and Irene did not perform as well as his earlier movies. However, they were still okay and managed to develop a following regardless.

As an actor, Jim Carrey started to show growth in his abilities later in his career by taking on more dramatic roles. He played in some pretty serious movies, like Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, both of which garnered some critical acclaim and showed people that he was more than just a good comedy actor.

There are quite a few Jim Carrey films to select from, and it's hard to decide which of them is the best. Everyone has their own personal favorite.
